Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Speaking to Iran News Agency he said that Pakistan has never supported terrorist activities of Jundallah and the trust level between Pakistan and Iran should be improved over Jundallah issue.
“Rigi was punished for his criminal acts”, he believed.
Iran has executed ringleader of the Jundallah arrested while preparing to launch a new round of attacks on the country.
The Jundallah ringleader was charged with 79 counts of various crimes including armed robbery, bombing operations in public places, armed attacks on the army, police personnel and ordinary civilians, assassination attempts, disrupting regional stability, kidnapping and murder.
Iran’s security forces arrested him on February 23 in eastern Iran while he was on a flight from Dubai to Kyrgyzstan.
Rigi had close links with a terrorist outfit al-Qaeda besides it did have the backing of US and UK.
Dr Rashid Ahmad Khan said that Pakistan has always respected its relations with Iran and has been cooperating with Iran on Jundullah issue.
“The issue of terrorism could only be solved through mutual cooperation”, he suggested. “No Pakistani has ever supported any terrorist activity against Iran”, the analyst made it clear.
He said that one thing is absolutely clear that Pakistani soil would not be allowed against Iran. “If certain Pakistani based groups are engaged in terrorism against Iran they must be punished”, said Dr Rashid Ahmad Khan.
The analyst believed the execution of Abdolmalek Rigi would be great setback to the terrorist and would have no adverse affect on Pak-Iran relations.
He added that may be the reaction on Rigi’s hanging is different in Balochistan. “May be they want more transparency in Rigi’s trial but one thing is clear that Rigi met his fate”, he said.
